Interpreting the Prophet: Edgar Cayce
What is Reading?
At the request of someone or some group, Cayce went into a hypnotic
(trance state)at an appointed time.
The stenographer would sit near him and take down what he said.
The person conducting the reading gave Cayce the current address of the person or group, either in the same room or at a distance.
When Cayce said, "We found it," the information was then given.
When the instructions and questions were complete, the sleeping Cayce would say, "We're done here".
Amazingly, Cayce woke up with no memory of what he had said at all.
His conscious mind with only eighth-grade education needed other’s help to understand the recorded readings.
In particular, he had given up trying to understand the terms of medicine, history and geography.
In hypnosis (trance), he was unconscious and lost all his five senses: someone had pricked him with a needle in public. Only when he woke up did he feel any pain.
The readings are divided into physical readings and life readings.
The former accounts for the majority of readings, with more than 9000 cases, which gives information about a person's physical health or illness;
The latter gives a summary and guidance on the impact of all one's life experiences on this life.
