The Second Coming
revelation prophesied: But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. (Revelation 3:3)
Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed. (Revelation 16:15)
The scripture clearly predicts that the Lord comes again “like a thief”, which is of double meanings, one is that at a time that nobody knows, the Lord returns, which means no one knows the hour and day of the the Lord’s second coming.
And the other is that initially, the Lord comes again secretly as the Son of Man, without being recognized.
Well then, when the true Lord comes again, Who can recognize Him? Who will be the first ones to welcome Him? This is a critical question.
When the true Lord comes again, if no one recognize Him and no one welcome Him, why would He even bother to come? There would be no difference.
So, when the true Lord comes again, who can recognize Him?
We must clarify two situations first:
First, whoever claims to the world that he is the returning Lord must be false.
At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. (Matthew 24:23)
So the true Lord will never tell the world publicly that he is the returning Lord.
Second, whoever does great signs and wonders to make people believe him as the returning Lord must be false too.
For false christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect--if that were possible. (Matthew 24:24)
Therefore, the true returning Lord will not publicly do great signs and wonders, or the elect might be deceived.
